Emirates airlines received its first award for the best airline of the year in 2001 and managed to repeat that feat again in 2002 as well. 20273 people are employed in Emirates Airlines and it is solely owned by the Dubai government.

Emirates airlines have been a profitable airline since its inception and its profit growth has never fallen below the 20 percent mark. It reached the highest growth rate this year with an increase in the rate of profit to 62 percents from the last year. Emirates airline has recently ordered 58 airbus A380 aircrafts and will become the second airline after Singapore Airlines to have this number of aircraft in their disposal.
