Out of the airlines mentioned above a New Zealand based airline called the Pacific Blue Airline has quite a name. It into existence in the 2003 and started its operations and providing services to its customers in 2004 between Christchurch and Brisbane, Australia. It is based in Christchurch at Christchurch and Auckland Airport, and currently operates low-fare air services locally in New Zealand, and internationally between New Zealand and Australia, and to the Pacific Islands. It also operates services on behalf of Polynesian Blue. Pacific Blue Airlines has also actively operated and provided its service between Wellington and Sydney which was brought to an end within 3 months. When it was established it had a total of seven 737 aircrafts bearing 180 seats.
In the year 2007, Pacific Blue started operating locally and provided domestic services in New Zealand, which started increasing its revenue due to the vast amount of passengers that were using its services for travel. Within New Zealand Pacific Blue introduced its services between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Routes were quite as per the customers needs. Pacific Blue had based its routes on extensive amount of research so as to generate vast amount of revenues. Due to the changed routes the competitors of Pacific Blue Airlines had to drop there fares by up to 30%.
Later in April 2008, a new local route was introduced by Pacific Blue Airlines that was through Dunedin in order to dominate routes into local areas. Apart from the introduction of this new route Pacific Blue also declared the provision of services to international routes to meet demand and to be more competitive.
Pacific Blue Airlines operates and provides its services for destinations like Australia, Brisbane (Brisbane Airport), Gold Coast (Gold Coast Airport), Melbourne (Melbourne Airport), Sydney (Kingsford Smith International Airport), Cook Islands, Rarotonga (Rarotonga International Airport), Fiji Nadi (Nadi International Airport), New Zealand Auckland (Auckland International Airport), Christchurch (Christchurch International Airport), Wellington (Wellington Airport), Dunedin (Dunedin Airport), Tonga Nuku-alofa (Fua-amotu International Airport),Vanuatu Port Vila (Bauerfield International Airport). It has a single fleet of a Boeing Aircraft bearing 180 seats that provides services both locally and internationally. Its fleet consists of a Boeing 737; currently one was on order in November 2007. Later in the years, Pacific Blue has bought two additional 737s from its parent Virgin Blue so as to facilitate its domestic services in New Zealand. Internationally Pacific Blue Airline has operated and provided its services between New Zealand, Australia and Pacific Islands. |
