Virgin Airlines- Longest Passenger Aircraft

Airlines have always been the best mode of transport for any person to travel in. In this fast moving world a person has many choices to make, from the many airlines present today. Amongst these airlines is the Virgin Airline, a British airline owned by Richard Branson’s Virgin group and Singapore airlines. It was Randolph fields who got the notion of setting up an airline flying from London to the Falklands, at that time a war was going on in the Falklands and there was an urgent need of an airline service. Although the idea was ahead of its execution Fields did not give up and it was two years after he had thought of the idea that this airline got its license for flying. Some years later Fields and Branson met they stumbled upon a business partnership and it was then that the Virgin Airlines got rid of its former name and came to be known as the Virgin Airlines.

Right now the current key people in the Virgin Airlines are Richard Branson who is the president, Stephen Murphy being the chairman and Steve Ridgeway as the CEO. Throughout the years up to now Virgin Airlines has bought Boeings such as the Boeing 747, started routes from Gatwick to Miami and so on. The Virgin Airlines have their main headquarters in London, England and United Kingdom. Its hubs are London Heathrow Airport and London Gatwick Airport.

Now it has been a long time to the Virgin Airlines and on its way up the ladder the Virgin Airlines have now become very bitter rivals of the British Airways. The Virgin Airlines are the longest passenger aircraft in the world. As far as its accidents go there were two cases to be exact where the plane had to make emergency landings but has never reported of any loss of lives. Other wise the Virgin Airlines is a very safe and sound airline to travel in.

As far as the entertainment goes which any passenger would look for, these airlines offer personal seat-back television and some other audio/video demand systems. Of course for the upper class there are much better benefits such as in classy seat laptop power. Also it has been claimed that its upper class seat is the biggest fully flat bed as compared to other airlines’ and also the upper class has power leads for ipods and access to chauffeur, the clubhouse and a larger menu to drool upon. What more could one ask for, the Virgin Airlines has it all. Also the Virgin Airlines people are really concerned about the environment that is why they are trying to promote bio fuels and they even volunteered one of its Boeings for a bio fuel test.

Currently the Virgin Airlines operate from long haul routes between the United Kingdom and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia from its main bases at London Heathrow and London Gatwick. It should be known that it has altogether 30 destinations. The virgin airlines have their own small base at the Manchester Airport. The company also holds a license which allows it to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft. More information can be accessed regarding the virgin airlines using the internet by the correct usage of keywords and one can easily book a flight on its very own official website.
