You can only get away from work and stress out a little by going out of station like travel some other country or so. The best way considered could be taking a vacation to one of many places in the world. People like to use different airlines as per the place that they select like the Southwestern Airlines, NWA, Qantas Airline and many more. These are just some of the places that they might look forward to traveling and this may be because of the routes and services that they offer to public. Different airlines provide different services like some may be for vacation traveling and other might just be for the delivery of goods from one place to another. These goods maybe distinguished into Cargo and Mail. These are generally some small aircrafts that can carry less passengers and more weight.
Out of the airlines mentioned above a British airline that came into existence in the early 80s called the Virgin Atlantic Airways was quite popular. After its establishment, the Virgin Atlantic Airways provides its services between the United Kingdom and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia from its main bases at London Heathrow and London Gatwick. It has a smaller base at Manchester Airport and it is known by many people that the Virgin Atlantic Airways holds a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type “A” Operating License, which permits it to carry passengers, cargo, and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats. It was able to generate a huge profit of £46.8 million in 2007.
The whole launch of the British Atlantic Airways took a fair deal of time due to constant License Rejections by British Caledonian and BAA. Finally after a considerable amount of time and meetings with individuals like Richard Branson the newly named Virgin Atlantic Airways got its license and were inaugurated in 1984. It used its single leased Boeing Aircraft and became quite profitable during its first year of operation due to fall of the peak season of June to September. Along side other finances for its aircraft the Boeing 747; Virgin Atlantic Airways got aids from Virgin Records. Virgin Atlantic Airways after 2 years of operations; introduced its second Boeing 747 which provided services for routes from Gatwick to Miami. Soon after more aircrafts were added to the inventory of the Virgin Atlantic Airways which routed from Gatwick to New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Boston and Orlando. Virgin Atlantics growth was so immense that two Boeings 727 were operated by Club Air in the late 80s, but these were withdrawn after 2 years.
In the 90s, Virgin Atlantic was facing financial problems due to the loss of traveling passengers. This dilemma was caused by the Gulf War, where people were frightened to travel by air. Later in 1991 Virgin Atlantic Airways was given permission to operate from Heathrow Airport in London due to increasing pressure from the Industry, despite facing mounting conflict from British Airways, whose senior management was exerting pressure on the Government to maintain the status quo. Virgin Atlantic Operates through its considerable amount of fleet and now provides its services through Heathrow London. Any information on Virgin Atlantic Airways can be taken from the internet because it is now full of news, information and feedback of all the airlines. |
